Artist's Bio
Barry grew up in Idaho and
went a junior college in Rexburg, Idaho for two years where
he majored in Theatre and Cinematic Arts. While there he
performed in several of the mainstage shows among which
his favorite roles were Elwood P. Dowd in Harvey
for which he was awarded "Best Actor", and Will Parker in
Oklahoma! which took home the "Best Supporting Actor"
award all in one year. Then Barry headed for Brigham Young
University in Provo, Utah and participated in many of the
mainstage productions as well as directing his own shows
in the directors studio classes. Barry spent two summers
in Jackson Hole, Wyoming performing at the Pink Garter Theatre
(now the Jackson Hole Playhouse). He spent another two summers
in Utah at Robert Redford's theatre "Sundance" where Barry
acted in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Annie
and The Unsinkable Molly Brown. During Barry's final
year of college he was fortunate to be selected to be a
Young Ambassador - a touring group produced by BYU which
visited the east coast and Canada.
Since moving to Seattle, he has performed in many of the local theatres.
Some of his favorite roles are James in Shenandoah,
Lon in Meet Me in St. Louis, Caleb in Seven Brides
for Seven Brothers, Hortensio in Kiss Me Kate
and a Protean in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to
the Forum. Barry would like to continue acting in the
stage and eventually like to choreograph and someday direct.
