Artist's Bio
Brian is a native of Augusta,
Georgia. He received his dance training from Ron Colton
at the Augusta Ballet Company where he was a company member
for 6 years. He also performed with the Augusta Opera Company as a dancer for 5 years. He taught dance at the
number 1 rated Fine Arts School in Georgia - The Davidson
Fine Arts School of Augusta where he choreographed
The Fantasticks and Babes in Arms. During
his 3 year span teaching and directing, Brian created the
Dance/Theater Desert Program which is still going on strong
16 years later.
After discovering a new home in
the Northwest, Brian has danced with Olympic Ballet
Theater and is a 10 year veteran with Spectrum
Dance Theater. He has danced and performed many aspects
of the arts: ballets, operas, industrials and musical theater.
Brian has danced and worked on dances with Sally Bliss,
Maria Grandy, Lynne Taylor-Corbett, Tom Pazik, Ann Reinking,
Lar Lubovitch, Dwight Rhoden, Wayne Bascomb, Randy Duncan,
Frank Chavas, Wade Madsen, Llory Wilson, Claire Bataille,
Pat Graney, Mark Kane, Nancy Cranborne, Mary Price-Boday,
Peter Anastos, Peter Powlus, Daniel Ezralow, Marcus Galante,
and Victor Trevino.
His favorite ballets performed include The Nutcracker, Coppelia, Giselle, Hearth of Embers,
Swan Lake, Romeo & Juliet pas de deux, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Pas de Quatre, Ice Skaters,
Dying Swan (solo), Bolero, The Three Musketeers, Seranadianna, Go for Barrocco, Minkus Gala,
Les Spectre de la Rose, Star Spangled Ballerina and Dracila. Brian's favorite operas performed include The Pirates
of Penzance, Bartered Bride, H.M.S. Pinafore and Carmen. His favorite musicals he has performed and choreographed
include A Chorus Line, Annie Get Your Gun, West Side Story, The King & I, The Fantasticks and Mary
Price-Boday & Friends. His favorite choreographers include Ann Reinking, Lynn Taylor-Corbett, Claire Batille, Pat Graney, Wade Madsen,
Peter Anastos, Marcus Gallante, Lar Lubovitch, Dwight Rhoden, Peter Poulus and Nancy Cranbourne.
In 2003, Brian finished his
7th season tour with the New York based ballet company Ballets
Grandiva where he spent 6 months performing in 46 cities
throughout Japan and China as the ever Japanese-popular
"Yoko Moshi-Moshii!"
