Artist's Bio
Larry moved to Los Angeles in '92 to pursue
a career in journalism and ended up starting a national magazine,
Yolk, eventually becoming its editor-in-chief until '96. He's
a professional writer and editor by trade and has been assistant
editor of the monthly publication, KoreAm Journal, since '94.
Along the way, Larry managed to pick up a few acting gigs,
starting with his NWAAT debut, Godzilla Comes to Little
Tokyo, a musical where he played Saburo. Also at NWAAT,
he has performed staged readings of The Grapevine and
The Floaters (also performed in Los Angeles at The
Powerhouse Theatre).
Larry attended Washington State University
majoring in Broadcast Journalism. In college, Larry played
Richard in the musical, Grease, and John in A Separate
Table. He gained recognition for his supporting role in
the independent film, Buddhaheads. He's also the principal
in a handful of commercials and over a dozen print ads for
such companies as Bank of America, Pac Bell Wireless, Samsung
Clothing and Esses Clothing, to name a few.
Larry has also trained/worked with William
Shepherd, Cold Tofu, The David Henry Hwang Writer's Institute
and Dan Kwong's Asian Men's Workshop. Currently, he studies
Jeet Kune Do, the martial art founded by Bruce Lee, with Sifu
Jerry Poteet. Larry intends to master it and eventually teach
it to future generations the way it was meant to be taught.
