Production Notes
Director's Notes
What is the environment of a
Heart Break? Tennessee Williams paints a weeping
rain of tears, bursts of flaming passion, grounded
practicality and blustery manipulation which take
Dotty, Bodey Helena and Sophie through that unavoidable
landscape we have all experienced at least once.

For our production each character enacts the essences
of these four elements - water, fire, earth and
air - at once battling and balancing the others.
During rehearsal we were all surprised at how
accurate these choices were for both actress and
character. There is a lot of truth in Creve
Coeur. Heart break is inevitable; we'll remember
the terrain as we pass through.
