Halloween just wouldn't be the same without a play
Staff Writer Starring Joseph Steven Yang, as Charles Schulz's ever hopeful child character, Charlie Brown, the production zipped along merrily, delighting those who gathered last Friday at the Langston Hughes Cultural Arts Center. The musical numbers--which included the razzle-dazzle "Suppertime" and well known "Happiness"--sparked, belted out by a cast clearly comfortable with the acting and singing rigors of this show. And yes, it was funny, both for the adults and the children who attended with them.
Good casting decisions were giving actor Jeannette LeGault the part of "Lucy" and Amy Jo Diebold the part of little sister "Sally." Also notable were Christopher Zinovitch as a classy, but loveable "Snoopy" and Leilani Wollam as the down-to-earth member of the Peanuts gang, "Violet." As ReAct does often bring back audience favorites, one hopes this will be one to see another production in the future, with the same cast, of course. ReAct's next production, Miss Minidoka 1943 comes back for another look by new audiences, this week and will run until November 12 at the Langston Hughes Cultural Arts center.
